Yes, its really been that long since we, as Indians, have earned our freedom.
Two days every year, every Indian suddenly remembers the brobdingnagian sacrifices certain people made for this day, in 1947, to establish its significance in the first place. And 26th January to come into effect later on, as well.
Indians, brilliant as we are, choose to forget any reason for this day's significance to make any effect on their activities for the rest of the year. And that's a commendable feat. To be in charge of one's emotions is a really admirable exertion.
All that's so praiseworthy. But are we really independent? Well, that's for you to decide. I'd say we are. No matter what others say, I would actually contradict their theories with my own. And I'm sure that l'd be successful.
1. A policeman takes as much bribe as he wants. #independent
2. The rich and the influential can have their way. #independent
3. Do I actually have to talk about the ministers? #independent
4. Let's talk about government people. Er, why waste time and space. #independent
5. Okay, certain cells and certain teachers at certain educational institutions.. You get my point, right? #independent

Hey, so you or someone you know is being harassed for political reasons? Your mistake: You made an incorrect political decision. And if you stayed at Chandannagar and had a woman at home and still made an incorrect political choice, that's enough reason to ROFL.
So, people aren't getting justice over "petty" or "tainted and painted" issues? Their mistake. They are neither rich nor influential, or either of the two.
And Hey, why did YOU keep YOUR hard earned money in some Sahara or Saradha? Just because the government was doing nothing about them until they finally got exposed? If you just made the correct choice and kept all your money in a Swiss bank account, you wouldn't have to lose any, or even pay taxes.
And you still say that the India we are in is not the place where our forefathers wanted us to be at? Just get it together, man! If you are in any kind of a shit, its probably because of an "incorrect" political frame of mind. Make some changes in your thinking, perhaps even attend some political sessions (the one that wakes you up early today could suffice, but make sure you reach the "correct peoples'" noise).
We've reached a fine place, perhaps the promised land. The Indian dream has been realized! Cheers, to India!
PS.: Just so you are in line with me (you know, there are all kinds of people), I was being sarcastic all this while.
